This very small 9 mm x 9 mm, 64-pin, quad flatpack no-lead (QFN) silicon package provides a 40-percent reduction in total footprint over the previous generation. Intel® 82574L/IT Gigabit Ethernet Controllers provide a pathway from legacy PCI/PCIx designs to higher performing PCIe*-based designs. These single-port controllers use a PCIe one-lane (x1) interface operating at 2.5 GHz. The device provides fully integrated gigabit Ethernet media access control (MAC) and physical-layer (PHY) capabilities that can be configured for either 1000 Mb/s or 10/100 Mb/s modes of operation.
